CL type gear coupling

The CL type gear coupling is suitable for connecting two horizontal shaft transmission systems, with a certain capability to compensate for the relative offset of the two shafts. It transmits a nominal torque of 710–1000000 N·m. The CL type gear coupling is a movable rigid coupling, consisting of two inner-toothed outer casings and two outer-toothed sleeves. The sleeves are connected to the shafts using keys, and the two outer casings are joined together by end bolts. A sealing ring is placed between the outer casings and the sleeves. The number of teeth on the internal gears is equal to the number of teeth on the external gears, and an involute tooth profile with a 20° pressure angle is typically used. During operation, torque is transmitted through the meshing gears. Due to the relatively large clearance between the gear teeth, the coupling can compensate for the misalignment and angular deviation between the two shafts. To reduce wear on the gear teeth and the frictional resistance from relative displacement, lubricating oil is injected internally. The angular displacement allowed for the gear coupling is up to 30°. Gear couplings have the ability to compensate for radial, axial, and angular misalignment, with advantages such as a compact structure, small turning radius, large torque transmission capacity, high transmission efficiency, low noise, and long maintenance intervals. They are especially suitable for low-speed, heavy-duty working conditions, such as those in metallurgy, mining, lifting, and transportation industries, as well as for shaft transmission in various types of stationary machinery, including petroleum, chemical, and general machinery.
