Driving pulley (Head pulley)

A conveyor pulley used for the purpose of driving a conveyor belt. Normally mounted in external type bearings and driven by a motor and reducer. Conveyor head pulleys can be flat faced or crowned and many have lagging to reduce belt slippage. Conveyor drum pulleys, wing pulleys and spiral pulleys are the most common style of drive pulleys.

Driving pulley (head pulley) is the main part of belt conveyor to transmit power. The driving mode of belt conveyor includes single drum, double drum and multi-drum. Single drum is mostly used in conveyors with low power, such as coal mine ground transportation and coal preparation plant. Underground belt conveyors generally use double drums to make the structure of the conveyor compact. Driving drum is the power transmission part of conveyor. The surface of the driving drum is covered with bare steel, herringbone and rhombic pattern rubber. Bare steel surface can be used for low power, small bandwidth and environmental drying. The herringbone glue surface has high friction coefficient, good skid resistance and drainage, but it has directionality. Conveyor with rhombic rubber surface for bidirectional operation.There are two models:TD75 and DTII:

Driving pulley (head pulley) Features

1,The driving pulley (head pulley) is welded by steel plate, and using rolling bearings.

2,The surface of driving pulley (head pulley) includes three type: smooth, plastic and cast plastic. Usually the smooth pulley can be used on condition that the power is not big, and the the ambient temperature is low. The plastic surface pulley should be used when it is easy to slip.

The quality of cast plastic driving pulley (head pulley) is better.Becasue the external surface layer is wear-resistant. The packed plastic drum can achieve the same performance. It's easy to replace rubber surface , easy to maintain.And it's also be considerde affordable and durable.
